Standard de Liège has decided to use the buy option for the young Ugandian offensive midfielder. He signed a contract at our club for 3 seasons (till June 2019).

In January, Standard de Liège and the Ugandian club Vipers SC reached an agreement : Farouk MIYA was loaned to our club till the end of this season with a buy option.

The 18-year-old offensive midfielder, born in Mulago the 26th of November 1997, is an Ugandian international as well (24 caps / 13 goals) and will therefore continue his career in Liège.

Olivier RENARD : "Since Farouk MIYA arrived in Liège he showed some nice things on training and during the games he played. He started three times in play-off 2 and scored his first goal for the "Rouches" against Mouscron. This young player has convinced us of his qualities and his potential. The player himself was charmed by the project of our club and he believes Standard is the right step for him to make progress. He will help our club to reach his objectives and is looking forward to the beginning of the preparation for next season."
