Standard de Liège, Manchester United and Victor VALDÉS have reached an agreement : the Spanish goalkeeper is lent to our club until the end of this season (depending on the outcome of his medical tests).
Victor, born the 14th of January 1982 in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, arrived at the youth academy of FC Barcelona, La Masia, in 1995. Seven years later, in 2002, he began his professional career at the Catalan club.
Before joining Manchester United in January 2015 he played 535 matches for the “Blaugrana” all competitions included (2002-2014). During that time, he was able to complete his palmares: 6x ‘La Liga’, 2x Spanish Cup, 3x Champions League, 2x Spanish Supercup and 2x World Championship for clubs.
He also has 20 caps for the Spanish national team since 2010 and he was part of the squad that became World champion in 2010 and European champion in 2012.
His arrival will be a great opportunity for our young goalkeepers to develop themselves. Victor will bring over his year-long experience and the youth will get advice of one of the best goalkeepers in the world in the next few months.
We are very proud and happy that we can receive such a professional. We would like to give a warm welcome to Victor VALDÉS and we wish him all the best at our club.
